We are Brody's paternal grandparents. Our names
are Papa and Nene Tesar. We had the pleasure of taking Stanley to Sun
City Arizona for a week. It was his first time flying on an airplane
which was very exciting for him. We flew from Peoria Illinois to Sun City
Arizona which is about 1,600 miles away. It took 2 ½ hours to get there
by plane. If you drove there it would take 2 ½ to 3 days of boring
driving time.
There are about 40,000 people who live in Sun City. It
is a community in which the full time residents must be at least 55 year old in
order to live there.
In surrounding areas Spring Training is held for many major
league baseball teams . Among them are the Chicago Cubs and the San Diego
Padres. You have to go to Florida in the spring if you want to watch the
Cardinals.
There are also a lot of golf courses in the area.
While Stanley was there he played golf and gave a friend of Papa’s a golf
lesson or two…….. Stanley shot a 79 for 18 holes which is 7 shots over “par”….
Way to go Stanley!!!!
He also was lucky enough to go to Brody’s cousin’s (Knox
Tesar’s) 1st birthday party. He met a lot of nice kids
there. He also got to hug a pomegranate that was hanging on a tree in the
back yard. Brody’s great-aunt Beckie held him up real high so he could reach
it! There are lots of pomegranates in Arizona but not in Missouri.

We had a few questions to ask Brody's grandpa, so we sent him an email.
Dear Mr. Tesar,
Thank you for taking Flat Stanley to Sun City. We had a couple of questions about your email. We were wondering…
Why are only 55+ year olds able to live in Sun City?
Is the time in Sun City, Arizona different from the time in Missouri?
